One of the greatest and most important things in renovations, building and contractions is team work. as each person has their own individual talents and gifts. This applies to most things to have a good team of people and cooperation of others.

Jesus once said that those of you that want to be great, that you must serve one another and love your neighbour as yourself and love your enemy.

When I first heard that many years ago, I found it hard to put always into action but i’ve learnt over the years that it works. As hard as it is sometimes the best results are when one serves others in love and eliminate hatred, envy, jealousy, selfishness and cynicism and negative attitudes towards others. its being patience, with others as none of us are perfect.

I believe its the right thing to do, is to treat people well and pay them there dues, this brings great success to team work and excellent results and there’s everything to gain from this all round.

When I have a vision for a property renovation or creation design, I always keep that vision in the fore front of my mind, and work towards that goal, despite all the obstacles and very often many challenges, the vision stays a reality until completed and it literally becomes the real thing.
I believe that if one stays focused on a good goal then eventually you’ll get there. in this particular case I am applying this to design or the purchased of property for example but this can be applied to any thing, its important to stay focused on what your doing, until its done and materialises, it just takes the faith to continue believing until it appears.

This may not be the most appealing thing everyone wants to hear, l was once told this and at the time it was the very last thing l personally wanted to listen too but theirs a very good moral that comes from this, especially in this merteralistic world we live in and also like many people, l like many of the material things around.

However the world economic meltdown that resulted in the greatest evaporation of wealth in history, tens of trillions of dollars, euro, pounds, of all currency’s just disappeared in value from the markets around the world.
It seems almost inconceivable that trillions of amounts of money could vanish without a trace, but they can.
Money as a foundation can be washed away and it can never be the eternal and ultimate source of security, therefore dont put your trust in money.
Finally it is to realize that no wealth or position can long endure and only things built on truth and justice will last.
There’s nothing wrong with saving and investing for the future, but money can never be the ultimate source of security.
Security therefore can only be in something eternal and we have all been enlighten to the beauty of nature around us and its creator.

It is important for the client to put a budget and work within or round about that budget.

l am all in favour of getting estimates and quotes, however the most expensive doesn’t always mean the best, as does buying the cheapest.

What’s really important is careful choice and consideration, when it comes to buying of the products, much money, can be saved by careful and wise choice in shopping.

One may find a cheap product but it costs twice as much to lay it, but the reverse is also true, it doesn’t mean buying expensive achieves the design and decoration image required or a plumbing item chosen, may not be as good as a reliable make, because you may end-up calling the plumber several many times, and if there’s a leak and no-one wants that.

Computer design, has greatly enabled the house design industry, the designer and the customer to see a very beautifully finished homes via computer or computer photo images.

However there are a few lessons l believe to realise from computer made-up designs and photo’s images projected. Although l like a more modern look, l adore to combine new and old ideas together.

The most important thing is the heart of the place and to build character that withstands all trends and fashions of today’s life. A character that even after a few years wear and tear, it just needs a paint lift and maybe a few accessories to get up to date!

I aways try to get a perfect vision of what a property should look like and then I tend to create the basic layout. With the advancement of computer aided drawing technology it’s easy to create a nice design fast, and present it to the client. Although my personal preference is to work from my vision and drawings done for the client, and being on site. The reason is that being on site you get the feel as the creation comes into being and furthermore there are always adjustments that need to be done, not possible to be shown in the drawings.

I prefer to work stage by stage and much depends on the budget and who’s the owner. I build in and around that original vision, developing and progressing upon that. Deriving from the clients own taste but keeping much of the original vision that l first got.

That’s always the best blend, because it’s from the heart. Moreover, although l love being artistic, homes must be functional, with enough storage and seating and space.

Space must be sufficient and its use efficient.

I believe in using colour in the way, it was first intended. If you look at a tree and its leaves or the birds on the tree, and the lovely combinations of colours, or the sea and how the blue sea hits the contrasts of the sand and the rocks, even the sea changes through a vast range of colours! Look at how beautifully they are coloured and the multitude of combinations. I simply transport all that beauty available into the property. l believe that gives my work a particular unique essence and style, that sets me apart in design and literally speaks for itself.
